a few updates from ukiuki!

one of our own, japokland, checked into the hospital on saturday.  she will go as she puts it "under the knife" tomorrow, for what we hope is her final knee surgery.  we have had a fun few days disturbing the other patients and the staff. gijin are overpowering in those small facilities, but skip-bo and UNO are a must. duh.  

I am happy to report the sakura blooming away! shannon, matt and miyu had a successful hanami under the stars and latern lit cherry blossoms on friday night.  shannon now sleeps under a few sakura taped securely above her hospital bed. I only wish her roommate could enjoy them too.

after a post of complaints on spring...I think it might have come. the sun is shining and the birds are singing. thank goodness.
