Oh Little River, how I love your sunsets.
I think by your Rafiki tree and live by your fields.
Do you see me looking out from my window?
From my balcony, I can see your visitors, on bikes and on foot.
Although I am foreign to your land,
your children welcome me warmly.
They call to me and marvel at my unique stature.
We speak the same language -
if only for just a moment.
We laugh at our differences,
are awed by our similarities.
We smile, wave, gesture and greet each other.
Oh, Little River, I embrace the seasons you give me -
I witness your ever changing face
in the distant mountains.
I could stare into your eyes for hours,
find my way along your banks in the moonlight.
Oh, Little River, you feel like a home -
a dream -
a surreal place -
that has marked itself in my journeys.
I wonder if I will return to your waters again someday -
an older woman.
I will bring you my child.
We shall breathe in your peaceful wind.
Then,
we will watch your gorgeous sun -
set in the sky -
side by side again.Japaussie <3
